Prof. Amir Mulla is working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Sciences, Fergusson College, Pune. The lecture he delivered was an interactive session and all the audience including students from all the groups of B. Sc (CS & Regular), B. Com., 12th Sciences and staff present in the auditorium enjoyed the presentation which continued for almost 90 minutes. The lecture was comprised of various aspects related to environment among which one important aspect was that ‘how sustainable approaches are beneficial in reducing Environmental Pollution’. He mentioned how human behavior influences the environmental conditions by giving examples from Green Revolution period with the beginning of extensive usage of chemical fertilizers and pesticides deteriorated agricultural land. He has also discussed current scenario of the severe water shortage situation of ‘Cape Town’.
Prof. Mulla also emphasized on Global Warming issues and its resultants such as El-Nino and La-Nino, as one of the major causes of farmers death. Also, he had used many visual aids for his presentation. The lecture ended with Question and Answer session, National Anthem and his warm blessings to all the students present there and a vote of thanks by the students.
