Introduction

Introduction

Brief History – Since June, 2010, this physical education department was there for student’s sports necessity. From one small room for department and one basketball, volleyball   and open space available for sports activity (350 students strength) to present day scenario of having enough size department, table tennis hall, well equipped gymnasium,   basket ball court(2000 student strength) it has been progressed.
Background – Physical education is very essential part of college students overall personality development. Besides sports activities, discipline, other physical fitness exercises are   conducted through the department.
Importance – all round Personality development. Balanced personality, achievement and progress are the key elements done through the department.
Objectives of the Department -Physical Development of Students (part of the personality development), Physical Fitness through Sports and Recreation.

In June, 2018 we started our departmental regular work. On 21st June, we celebrate 4rd International Yoga Day program in college auditorium. For this program, we had   invited expert Mrs. Sonal More from PDYA, Chinchwad. Our college Principal Dr. Rajendra Kankariya sir gave speech on importance of Yoga in daily life. Then for next 45 minutes  all the 60 participants (50 students and staff) take active participation in this International Yoga Day celebration. They performed warm up, then some Yoga Asanas and   Pranayama.
Sports department conducted training from 4th July,2018 of Power Yoga 45 days training for staff with Yoga Expert Mrs. Sonal More.
Prof. Dr. Anand Lunkad and Prof. P.T. Ingle sir participated in Sport Camp conducted by Sports and Physical Education department, SPPU, Pune between 18th to 20th July, 2018 at   Sangamner.
Prof. Dr. Anand Lunkad and Prof. P.T. Ingle sir attended first meeting of Pune District Sports Zone at ACS college, Indapur on 28th July, 2018.
15th August, 2018 Independence Day celebration at our college campus was organized by this sports committee.
From July, 2018 we started first year Physical education Practicals in the morning 7.00 am to 7.45 am and 10.10 am to 11.00 am.
This academic year our total 16 teams participated in team event sports competition namely cricket – Boys and girls, Kabaddi - Boys and girls, basketball - Boys and girls, football -   Boys and girls, Badminton - Boys, table tennis and chess – Boys, Base ball and Yoga- girls, and in individual event like archery, lawn tennis. Total 150 students participated in inter   collegiate sports competition.
Our college organized I/C Cricket (W) competition during 15th & 16th November. 9 College, 72 Players participated in this competition.
Sports committee organized Annual Sports week during 21st to 25th Dec, 2018. Chess, Table tennis, Badminton, Yoga, Kabaddi, Box cricket and basketball events were held in   annual sports week. Total 200 college students participated in these games.

Well equipped Gym, Open Gym equipments of Rs. 1, 35,700/- purchased (QIP)
Indoor Table Tennis, Yoga hall, Basketball Court.
Special facilities for students which include exemption from internal exams and additional marks for high achieving players.
Our college provides special facilities for high achieving player of sports as fees concession and honoring at College function.
