Pratibha College of Commerce & Computer Studies (PCCCS) has started with the academic year 2019-20 with its Faculty of Arts, Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. The College offers an integrative approach to studying a wide variety of advance learning. Our objectives are ‘to advance learning, knowledge and professional competence particularly in the fields of arts, in the principles and practice of arts in their relation to industrial and commercial processes and social developments and other subjects relating thereto, through teaching, research and collaboration with industry and commerce’.
The Faculty of Arts aims to achieve the standards of excellence by:

  • Fostering a high level of understanding of the principles and practice of arts.
  • Encouraging individual creativity among staff and students.
  • Exploring the innovative applications of technologies and processes to the disciplines of arts.
  • Encouraging awareness of social and environmental developments in so far as they relate to the overall upliftment of the faculty of arts.
  • Enhancing through co-operation and partnership with other institutions, locally, nationally and internationally.

We the faculty of Arts, also aim to prepare the students to about the major area of concentration in the coming years. It is imperative that each student’s course of study be developed in close consultation with an advisor and approved in advance. The senior capstone requires majors to undertake serious and substantive independent work that results in a thesis project. Students must identify a topic of interest, examine a specific problem and carry out independent research and analysis over an extended time. The results of this process are expressed through a written paper, exhibition, or both.

The Faculty of Arts has plans in maintaining an active program of events including visiting artists, speakers, workshops, etc. that will enrich our classes and also help draw the attention of the campus community to the arts.

Paired with our uniquely engaging Plan structure, our curriculum creates a rich foundation for unearthing passions and discovering the world. With our rigorous but broad requirements, you’ll have both ample independence and guidance during your three years. The Department has committed to provide a safe conducive work and academic environment to students & its employees. We the faculty of Arts will make sure of the extremely alert to matters pertaining to any kind of harassment & gender sensitivity. Any women aggrieved in this matter may fearlessly approach the Head of the Department or the Authorities of PCCCS against any harassment.

The Faculty of Arts has all the required amenities and infrastructure for the students. We the Arts stream have sufficient classrooms, library having the required text books and reference books, e-library facility, Computer Lab. for students, Ladies Common Room, Audio-Visual Hall, Conference Rooms. College also provides facility to the students like canteen, health-care facility and clean drinking water. The infrastructure of the college is as per the norms of the UGC.

Drinking Water:
College has enough number of drinking water coolers on all the four floor.

Sanitary Facilities:
College has adequate & Separate Sanitary facilities for girls .

Sports & Gymnasium:
College has various facilities of sports with all latest amenities:
Pavilion :
1. Indoor Sports game :

2. Outdoor Sports games having separate courts :

  • Cricket
  • Football
  • Volleyball
  • Basketball

3. Gymnasium :
College has a gym with all modern equipments

LIBRARY
Attached to the main academic block, the PCCCS Library is a unit with seating capacity for about 80 readers with free internet facility. Well-stocked and presently having a collection of, 5258 total reference books, wherein the Commerce Department holds 1250 books. Also, latest publications in the fields of business, economics, humanities and social sciences are continuously added to the collection to equip students with a wide range of academic. The College Library is fully automated and provides user services through computer.
The Library opens for eight hours from 9.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. However, during examinations it opens from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. for students’ convenience.

BASIC HEALTH CARE UNIT
The College has a basic health care unit to provide medical support in its campus to provide immediate medical assistance to needy students and staff members.

CANTEEN
The College Canteen is a popular meeting place for students. It serves a variety of eatables at moderate prices. Fully air conditioned canteen with elegant tables and cozy chairs add comfort while enjoying array of savory food. The College operates one canteen having a seating capacity of 30 people.

Procedure for maintenance of facilities:
The College ensures regular maintenance and upkeep of all infrastructural facilities. The maintenance work is carried out by trained in-house experts as well as outsourced to appropriate outside agencies. A full-time caretaker is appointed by the College to ensure the cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation, water supply, electricity, and security and stationery condition and to update the Principal of the institution about the current/ daily state of affairs. Furniture and equipment are purchased on regular basis as per the requirements. The College has its own fulltime plumber, electrician, sweepers and gardeners to maintain the lawns and flora of the College.

After successfully completing B COM Program students will be able to:  

PO1: Understanding Minor forms of literature  

Enhance ability to understand minor forms of literature introduced for the beginners.  Poems, short stories, articles and biographies are prescribed for students’ study. What is literature and what is language is made clear through the introduction of linguistics and phonetics.  

PO2: Analysing Major forms of literature  

While students know more about language and literature, they are taken ahead to next step to analyse the major forms of literature. Novels, Drama and Poems of different era are studied and critically appreciated.  

PO3: Mastering communication Skills  

Mastering foreign language as well as the major regional languages make students more competent and they can explore different fields for employment. The job opportunities will increase with mastering communication skills and mastery over languages.   

PO4: Basics of Psychology  

Studying basics of psychology to understand behaviour of people around. Understanding the foundation of Psychology and introducing social Psychology.  

PO5 : Understanding different fields of Psychology  

Psychology is a part and parcel of our life, Understanding different fields of psychology and utilizing them to make our life better is the sole aim of learning Psychology.  Exploring different fields may help students to choose a path of life and help others by counselling for their life and career.   

PO6: Introducing concepts in Economics  

Studying economics will strengthen the concepts of economy. It helps in understanding economy of our country. Students can easily contribute strengthening the economy of our country by working in finance and other related sectors. 

PO7: Analysing Macro and Micro Economics  

Analysis of core economic concepts will give a good insight about economy of the world and the country. By deep study the students can achieve mastery over the subject and can become economist in MNC. They can also work in the related sectors to enhance our economy.  

PO8: Understanding Constitution of India  

As citizens of India we must know the rights given to us by constitution of India. Our fundamental rights and basic rights are protected by constitution. Students become aware of roles and responsibilities of citizens.  

PO9: knowing Early India, Prehistory  

Enhancing ability to understand our history and relate it with today’s scenario. To get best out of it and make the present more feasible to lead life. History teaches a lot. It gives glimpses of our glorious heritage. It helps us to cope up with today’s difficult situation.   

PO10: Studying Environmental and Human Geography Studying atmosphere around and geographical structure will give us more knowledge about the ecosystem of our country. We know more about sustainable development for saving environment. Our contribution to it is very important.
