About the Department
The department was established in 2008 with 20 students. It has now shown a remarkable growth with a current strength of 1077 students by 2021- 22

There is a consistent effort by the department to improve employability and entrepreneurial skills among out students.

Department of Commerce – Best Practices:
1. Ek Mutti Anaj (A Handful of grains) – An activity carried out to inculcate the sense of social
responsibility among the students at the College. Under this activity, the students are asked to
bring handful of grains and resultant big stock of grains would get accumulated and this lumpsum
quantity of grains is donated to needy organizations like Old age home, Orphanage and other
needy sections of the society.
2. Mr. and Miss Vaanijjyam
An Intercollegiate annual Competition, which is basically carried out with the purpose of
sharpening the overall personality of the students. It is a platform for exploring the talents of the
students through Self Introduction, Role Play, Rapid fire round about Commerce Knowhow and
Express yourself (Judge’s Interaction).
3. Vaanijyam Vishwa – Telegram Channel
In pace with digitalization, a specific telegram channel has been created by the Department of
Commerce to keep the students updated about the current happenings in the Commerce world.
The teachers keep on posting business news, commercial statistics, management case studies,
video links of Commerce relevant material.
4. Model Making and Poster Making exhibition
As a part of practical learning, Model making and Poster making exhibition is carried out every
year in the department of Commerce. The students in respect to their specialization prepare
costing, banking and marketing models and charts. Thus, this activity encourages students to
connect theoretical concepts in practical applicability.

Introduction about the Course

A B.Com (BM) or Bachelor of Commerce in Business Management is a three-year undergraduate program focusing on commerce, finance, management, and entrepreneurship. It equips students with a blend of managerial, analytical, and business decision-making skills essential for the modern corporate world.

Eligibility

Criteria for admission to the course

  • a) No Candidates shall be admitted to the First Year of the B.Com BM Degree Program (2024 Pattern) unless he / she has passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination of the Maharashtra State Board or equivalent or University with English as a passing Course.
  • b) No candidate shall be admitted to the Third Semester Examination of the Second Year unless he / she has cleared First Two Semesters satisfactorily for the course at the college affiliated to this University.
  • c) No student shall be admitted to the Third Year B.Com BM (Fifth Semester) Degree Program (2024 Pattern) unless he / she has cleared all the papers of First and Second Semester Examination of F.Y. B.Com. BM
  • d) No candidate shall be admitted to the Fifth Semester Examination of the Third Year unless he / she has cleared first Two Semesters satisfactorily of Second Year for the Program at the college affiliated to this University.
  • e) No candidate shall be admitted to the Fourth Year B.Com BM (Seventh Semester) Degree Program (2024 pattern) unless he / she has cleared all the papers of Third and Fourth Semester Examination of S.Y. B.Com.BM

Introduction about the Course

Department of BBA (IB) Course was started in the year 2015. BBA (IB) Course was started with only 14 Students and now it has grown to 150+ students. BBA (IB) Department was established in order to give specialized knowledge to students who wish to make their career in International Business and building human relations. The focus is on team building and inculcating the feeling of together we achieve more.

Eligibility

  • Candidates must have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (10+2) examination or its equivalent from a recognized board.
  • English must be a compulsory subject.
  • Students from any stream (Science, Commerce, or Arts) are eligible to apply.
  • Admission is granted based on merit and as per the rules of SPPU and NEP 2020 guidelines.

Duration of the Course

  • The course duration is 3 years (6 semesters) as per the SPPU and NEP 2020 structure.
  • Students opting for the Honours track can continue for a 4th year (8 semesters total) to earn a B.Com (Computer Applications) Honours degree.
  • The program follows a Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS) with continuous internal assessment and end-semester examinations.
